Here at Susan Gage Caterers, we’ve always believed in using local vegetables whenever possible. Our region has a tremendous amount of local farms that grow phenomenal fruits and vegetables, which in turn allows us to provide the best possible products, reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy. We feel it is part of our mission to educate our staff 0n the importance of local, sustainable foods, and that there is no better way to do that than to start a garden here at our offices in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Our goals are simple: teach our staff the basics 0f organic gardening, reinforce the importance of using seasonal produce and–hopefully–maybe even grow something to eat. If successful, we also hope to share ideas on how to prepare what we produce and how to work locally produced foods into your own menus. We invite everyone to join this discussion and hope to include you in our efforts to educate our staff, clients and friends on the importance of organic, local cuisine.
